The next CLVS Video in the Legal Environment Seminar, which is the first step to the CLVS certification, will be offered in conjunction with the Trial Presentation Workshop.  Registration information will be available in May 2010.

About the Seminar & Forum

This Videotape in the Legal Environment seminar will set you on your way to videotaping depositions and courtroom proceedings with confidence and skill and in accordance with accepted Rules of Civil Procedure.  With the demand for legal video services growing nationwide, and as recognition of the CLVS designation increases, you won’t want to miss this program!

Legal Video Forum

Day one provides attendees with a general overview of what it means to be a legal videographer. Faculty will cover the use video in the legal system , components of a deposition recording system, as well as video and audio equipment.  Experienced legal videographers are not required to attend this day.  

This required day covers the CLVS Code of Ethics, the CLVS Standards for Video Depositions, as well as applicable Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Attendees will come away with a comprehensive understanding of the role of video in a deposition environment.

  • This day is required to earn the CLVS Certification.

This day combines with conference attendees from the Trial Presentation Program for a multi-angle look at legal video. Candiates may choose from three different tracks:

Hands-On Workshop:  Attendees will have the opportunity get an up-close look at a deposition set-up and work with faculty to learn more about hands-on aspects of video deposition.

Continuing Legal Video Education:  These discussions will focus on Marketing as well as how to create Day in the Life Videos and Site Surveys.

New Video Technologies Software: This track is ideal for those looking to expand their technology knowledge as well as those who have just completed the Trial Presentation Professional program.
