NCRA Involved in Introduction of
Internet Captioning Bill

On June 26, Rep. Edward Markey (D-MA) introduced H.R. 3101, the 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2009. Knowledge Is Power

A debate has emerged around a single action of the Board of Directors: an ongoing effort to investigate whether the stenographic profession would be better served if testing and certification programs were uniformly extended to both member and non-member court reporters.

To encourage open debate based on the facts, NCRA has launched a Web site that collects what we know about the profession, its history, and challenges. The Board is asking you review this information, think about your profession, and think about its future. Visit the site.
